AUKEY Bluetooth Speaker 20W with Enhanced Bass & Built-in Mic

I have quite a few Bluetooth speakers now, but it suits me having a choice as it means I can use them in various rooms and leave them there. I have a waterproof one I leave in the garden, another I leave in the kitchen, but until now I didn’t have an especially smart looking one to leave in the lounge and this speaker definitely fits the bill!

This speaker looks very smart, with classic styling and wouldn’t look out of place in an office or lounge and at just under 8” x 2.5” is has a small footprint too. Instead of the normal plastic and rubber you often have on Bluetooth speakers, this speaker has finely perforated gun metal encasing the top, back and sides and a darker brushed panel at the front with chrome buttons in the middle. I’m not totally sure what this speaker’s made from but there is a definite weight to it.

To be honest I don’t really understand speaker wattage, but I know 20w is much more than any other of my portable speakers has and you can really notice the difference listening to it. It has a great bassy sound to the music, but not so much it distorts the music. It also has a built-in speaker and can be used for phone calls if your phone is paired with it and pairing is super easy, mine paired straight away. I’d definitely recommend this speaker, I love it and of course it comes with Aukey’s 2 year warranty.

AUKEY Bluetooth Speaker with 30-Hour Playtime & Enhanced Bass

This Aukey speaker is brilliant; I love the unusual shape of it, it’s a bit like a pixelated dog bone; the front of the speaker is white, with the main body of the speaker being black rubberised material. It’s approx. 20.9cm long x 8.3cm high x 7.3cm wide; so although it’s a good size, it’s still small enough to be portable. There’s even a hanging loop built into the side of the speaker, to make it easier for you to hang up or attach to your bike. The speaker is rechargeable and when fully charged you can use you can use it for 30 hours, which is perfect for taking it out and about, especially as it’s waterproof; even better you can use it up to 33ft away from your music source, so you can leave your phone or MP3 safe and dry, whilst still being able to listen to music in the pool or the sea.

You can either connect the speaker to your phone or MP3 etc, via Bluetooth or with the included 3.5 aux cable. If it’s connected to your phone through Bluetooth, you can also use the speaker for phone calls. If music is playing, the call will automatically override the music, but the speaker will revert back to music after the call has ended. There are 5 buttons on the top of the speaker, the on/off button, call button, + and – buttons and a mode button. The call button is used to accept and end phone calls, the + and – buttons are used to either increase/reduce the volume or skip tracks, the mode button acts a bit like a graphic equalizer and changes the bass level. The sound quality on this speaker is brilliant from the two 5w speakers, the sounds are well balanced and there’s no distortion even on full volume, I liked it even better with the increased bass.

This is a great speaker with fantastic build and sound quality, together with the added benefits of being waterproof and rechargeable, as well as Bluetooth; I’d happily recommend the speaker, especially as it comes with Aukey’s 2 years guarantee.

AUKEY Bluetooth Foldable Headphones with Built-in Mic

I’m doing my degree with Open University and need to use a screen reader, so I wear headphones for a good few hours at a time. I was fed up with wired headphones and having to take them off every time I moved away from my laptop, even just to get something off the printer, so I wanted a pair of Bluetooth headphones. The Bluetooth headphones I had were great, but they were big and after a few hours they sometimes started to get uncomfortable. Although these headphones are almost full sized and completely cover your ears, they’re so light and comfortable you don’t even realise you have them on.

Although Aukey don’t say these are noise-cancelling headphones, they do a pretty good job at cutting out external noise. The sound quality from them is great too, speech is lovely and clear and music has a good depth to it and is well balanced. If they’re paired with your phone they can also be used to accept phone calls; when I tried this out, I could hear the person really clearly and they could hear me clearly too.

The headphones paired instantly with my laptop and my Android phone, they now automatically pair with my laptop when I turn them on. Also, as I’m useless at remembering to charge my headphones up I love the fact they’ll last for 10 hours on a single charge or 200 hours in standby; but if you’re like me and forget to charge them, they also come with a 3.5 aux cable which can be used to connect the headphones the traditional way.

Another bonus of these headphones is not only are they not as bulky as normal full sized headphones, they also fold up, so they’re even better for taking out and about with you. These really are a great set of headphones and they come with Aukeys normal 2 years guarantee.

AUKEY 11W Bluetooth Wireless Speakers with Subwoofer & FM Radio

I absolutely LOVE the design of this Bluetooth speaker! It reminds me very much of the ghetto blasters / boom boxes of the 1980s… I can just visualize a guy in roller skates with the speaker over his shoulder skating along Venice Beach. The benefit of this speaker is although it has a design reminiscent of the 80s; it definitely is full of technology from the 21st century.

The speaker is a cylindrical design approx. 25cm long and 13cm in diameter; it has a rubberised feel to it and it’s predominantly black with grey bands around either end. On the bottom there are 4 little feet moulded into the grey bands and on the top there’s a leather look strap across the length of the speaker; it’s approx. 2.5cm wide, so it’s nice and comfortable to hold and doesn’t cut into your hand at all, there’s also holes in the strap for you to connect the included nylon webbing shoulder strap.

On both ends of the speaker there are metal speaker covers, which house a total of 11W of output – 2 x 2W drivers and a 7W subwoofer. On one of the ends there’s also the control panel; which has an aux socket (if you want to use it with something that doesn’t have Bluetooth), the micro USB slot to charge the speaker, a volume control wheel, music control buttons and the mode button. The music control button allows you to play, pause, skip and rewind tracks; whereas the mode button lets you switch between Bluetooth and FM radio. I really like the fact that there’s a volume wheel, most Bluetooth speakers use the music control buttons to double up as volume buttons and I always seem to skip to the next track when I try to change the volume.

The speaker connected to my MP3 player and my phone within seconds and constantly maintained the connection. The speaker sounds great; there’s a good depth to the music without sounding at all tinny or too bassy… The size of the speaker makes it ideal for using outside and the performance quality is easily good enough for it to be used in an open area outside. I think this speaker is great, and I’d happily recommend it.

AUKEY Wireless Rechargeable Bluetooth Speaker with Built in Mic

Aukey make a wide range of Bluetooth speakers to suit all occasions and uses. This one is the more simplistic designs in appearance, although they’ve definitely not scaled down the features on it. The speaker is approx. 15.5cm long x 6cm high x 4.5cm deep, the entire front is the speaker, which is black in both colour options; the casing comes in either black or khaki green. The small, neat design makes it ideal for using as a portable speaker, there is also a rubber strap included with is threaded through two slots on the side. Although it’s extremely portable, the design definitely wouldn’t look out of place in the kitchen either. As the speaker is water resistant and shock resistant, there’s no need to worry about steam or moisture in the kitchen damaging it either.

The speaker can be easily paired with your phone, tablet, MP3, etc. by Bluetooth; Aukey have also thoughtfully included a 3.5 aux cable and socket, in case you want to listen to music from something that doesn’t have Bluetooth. Not only can the speaker be used for music, if it’s paired to your phone, it can also be used for phone calls, when I tried it the person could easily hear me and I could hear them very clearly too. There are just 4 buttons on the top of the speaker, the power button, a button to accept and end calls and then two buttons for increasing or decreasing the volume, which also let you skip tracks when you’re listening to music. The sound from this speaker is great quality and the music has a good depth to it.

The speaker is rechargeable and will run for 16 hours on a full charge, so is ideal for taking out and about with you. Also because it’s water resistant and shock resistant, you don’t have to worry about it getting wet at the beach or by the pool on holiday or if even if it’s raining and because the Bluetooth range is 33ft, you can have your phone etc tucked away safely. This is a really good understated speaker and excellent value for money, I’m happy to recommend it.
