AUKEY Vertical Ergonomic Mouse 2 Adjustable DPI 1000 / with 6 Buttons

I got this mouse for my Dad when his old mouse packed up; he’s 85 and suffers quite badly with arthritis in his wrist, partially due to age and partially due to an old injury, so I thought this style of mouse would be better for him.

I was definitely right in my assumptions. I know this mouse is labelled as ergonomic, but it’s perfectly designed; the shape of the mouse and the placement of the buttons fits the natural shape of the hand exactly, it’s really comfortable to use. I’m not sure what all the technical specifications mean with this mouse, but it’s really responsive and easy to use; there’s a left click, right click, scroll button, back and forwards buttons all of which are placed in easy reach. Plus there’s a snazzy blue light up strip on the side of it. This mouse is definitely money well spent, especially at £12.99 and I’d happily recommend it.

AUKEY WiFi Repeater Wireless Range Extender Dual Band

I’m studying with Open University for my degree, which means I spend a lot of time online. I’m lucky as my broadband is fast and my Wi-Fi signal is stable in the house; but on a nice day it’s lovely to be able to study outside. The end of my garden is sunny and I have a nice patio set there, but sadly the signal from my router won’t reach that far, hence me buying this to try.

There are so many Wi-Fi extenders / amplifiers / repeaters on the on the market and the technical specifications are like a foreign language to me. But I’ve always been pleased with Aukey products so I was hopeful that this would do the trick and be simple to set up. Luckily for me it excelled on both counts.

The extender was much smaller than I expected, pretty much the same size as a normal plug; but with the 4 antennas coming out the top and was white, so it didn’t stand out when it was plugged in, which for me is a good thing.

It came with really clear instructions and also a white LAN cable (so much nicer than the bright yellow ones that my ISP provides). Setting it up was a doddle, I put the switch on repeater mode, plugged in into the power point nearest the garden and furthest from my main router; held in the WPS button for 6 seconds, then ran into the lounge and pressed the WPS button on my router for 3 seconds and by the time I’d returned to my laptop which I’d left near the extender/repeater the connection was shown on my laptop. Initially I was a bit concerned as it was shown as an open / unsecured network, but after following the very clear and simple instructions it was secured within 2 minutes with the same settings as my main router. I’m not sure if I was more impressed with me or the extender, the whole process was so simple and painless.

I subsequently went out to the garden, sat at the table and was able to study online; to me this is a little box of miracles and may quite possibly transform my daily life. No longer will I be stuck in doors studying, when it’s a lovely day outside, I just wish that I’d bought it years ago!! I most definitely recommend this to anyone who wants their Wi-Fi signal to reach parts it can’t currently reach at the moment.

AUKEY Laptop Cooler, 4 Fans & LED lights, 2 USB Ports, Adjustable Tilt

I’m really impressed with this laptop cooler, the design of it is brilliant. My laptop was constantly getting hot and I was frequently getting pop-up messages to something to do with the cooler wasn’t working; but as I’m doing my final year of my degree online, I couldn’t afford to be without my laptop while it was repaired. Studying online, I probably spend more time online than I should and I know I don’t sit correctly, which does cause me neck ache. What I like most about this cooler is the fact that by using the adjustments underneath, you can tilt your laptop to any of the 5 available positions and I’m now able to use my laptop, sat on the sofa – but with the screen at eye level, instead of me spending hours with my neck bent looking down at it…..

But although that’s what I love most about this cooler, that’s probably not what most people would buy it for. The cooler is very well made; the majority of it is plastic, which keeps it lightweight, although the mesh part above the fans that your laptop sits on is metal. Everything is really nicely finished; rather than just having plain plastic, Aukey have embossed a snakeskin/honeycomb pattern into most of the plastic. At the front edge of the cooler there are little plastic flippers (like you get on pinball machines) that you can lift up to stop your laptop sliding off.  I’ve got a 15.6” laptop and it sits very comfortably on the cooler, it’s about the same width and there’s a good inch to spare at the back – as long as the majority of the laptop is on the cooler, I can’t imagine it would make any difference if you had an inch or so either side hanging over. On the right hand side of the cooler are 2 USB ports, one to connect the cooler to your laptop, using the supplied USB cable, plus a spare port than you can use for a mouse or lamp or anything you need it for. There is also a rotating switch that turns the 4 fans and LED lights on and allows you to adjust the strength/brightness. The fans are virtually silent, you can really only hear them if you’re in a silent room and the fans are on maximum, but even then it’s not loud enough to disturb you.

Since I’ve been using this I haven’t had any problems with my laptop overheating at all and I’ve definitely noticed the difference in lack of neck ache. I strongly recommend this cooler; it’s a brilliant design and is good for the health of you and your laptop.

AUKEY Laptop Cooler, 4 Fans & LED lights, 2 USB Ports, Adjustable Tilt

I bought this set of USB to micro USB cables for my Dad, as a couple of charging cables he'd received with products over the last year had stopped working. I specifically chose the white cable, so they wouldn't get mixed up with his existing cables; but with white skirting boards and a white bedside table, I personally thing they look a lot less obtrusive than black cables.

There were 6 cables in the pack of different lengths, 1 x 3 metres long, 1 x 2 metres long, 2 x 1 metre and 1 x 0.3 meters long, which is a great variety of lengths, whether you want to charge your phone in the car or have something connected from the other side of the room, you pretty much have all eventualities covered.

My Dad is very pleased with these cables, they charge well and seem to be faster charging than his previous ones. I’ve tried them out transferring songs from my phone to the laptop and that worked well too and at a good speed. I'd happily recommend this set of cables and a just over £1 each, I think they're amazing value, whilst still maintaining the normal Aukey high quality and of course they come with the standard Aukey 2 years warranty.

5 Pack of AUKEY  Data Sync & Charging USB C  to USB 3.0 cables

I have to admit that I stupidly ordered these by mistake, as they seemed to be much better quality than my existing charging cables and I liked the nylon braiding on the outside; but I didn’t realise that they had USB C connections, as opposed to the micro USB that my devices use.

Luckily one of my friends has a Nexus phone that does have the USB C connection, so I’ve given them to her and she tried them out for me. Like me, she was very impressed with the quality and design of the cables, the nylon braiding on the cables makes them feel much more substantial than the normal design cables and makes us think they’ll probably last longer, as well as looking much nicer too. Although these cables are marginally thicker, they are just as flexible as the traditional style cables and will actually stay in the position you put them in.

You get 5 cables in the pack, which I think is exceptional value for money. The cables you get are; 3 @ 1 metre long, 1 @ 2 metres long and 1 @ 33cm long, so you get a good selection of very usable lengths. The other end of the cable is the standard USB 3 connector, which means it'll give you faster charging & data transfer. My friend was very impressed with both the charging speed and the data transfer speed when she used them and the great thing about the USB C connector is that unlike the micro USB, it doesn’t matter which way up it is (I’m sure I’m not the only one who invariably tries puting the micro USB in the wrong way).

More and more devices are using the USB C connectors, because they give a faster connection than the traditional micro USB, the new 12” Apple Macbook, Google Chromebooks, LG Nexus phones and Lumia phones all now come with the USB C fitting; so if your current smart phone or tablet doesn’t use this connection, there’s a pretty good chance that if you replace it within the next 18 months or so, your new device will have USB C ports. I would happily recommend these cables to anyone needing USB C cables, they are very well made and are fast for both charging and data transfer. My friend is over the moon with the 4 I gave her; I must admit I kept the shortest one as I love the texture and flexibility and am currently using it as worry beads J. As with all Aukey products these cables come with a 2 year warranty.

AUKEY 3.0 Hub 4 Ports Aluminum Superspeed USB HUB With Cable

Aukey is great at making things to solve problems. By the time you have your mouse and keyboard plugged into your desktop, you either haven’t got many USB ports left or if you have, you’ll often have to struggle to get to them. Aukey has a hub with an additional four 3.0 USB ports in it, for the bargain price of only £12.99.

This sleek design would look very smart on anyone’s desk and the metallic silver colouring matches very nicely with the Apple range of products. The wedge shape has the 4 USB slots on the top and 2 long rubberised pads on the bottom to stop it scratch the desk top or slipping about. It also comes with a 60cm USB to USB cable, for you to use when attaching it to your computer.

Its simple Bus-Powered, plug-and-play system allows you to use it straight out the box without having to download any new drivers or software and will also support hot swapping. The hub also has over-current protection built into each port to protect both connected devices and your hub against power surges and failures; meaning you can leave it permanently attached to your PC without having to worry.

The 3.0 USB ports will transfer data at approx. 5GB per second, as well as allowing you to connect devices such as printers, scanners, cameras and docking stations to your PC. I think this is a great little device and exceptional value for money; I’d happily recommend it, especially as it comes with Aukey's 2 years warranty.
