The tablet was extremely well packaged, it was in a large sturdy cardboard, heavily encased in polystyrene and the accessories were in all together in a smaller box inside; this large box was then inside a thick cardboard outer box with a sheet of hardboard between the two boxes. The tablet was packaged so well, it would have survived an earthquake! Which for me is great as it’s a lot of money to spend on something that potentially could be fragile and damaged in transit; there’s definitely no need to worry about this being damaged.

There are two main things for me that make the Ugee tablets so amazing; the first is that you can see what you’re doing. I’ve tried the Wacom style tablets in the past and they were a total nightmare, all you had was a black thing in front of you and you had to guess where on the screen you were putting your pen. With this tablet, you actually have an exact duplicate of what’s on your computer screen on your Ugee tablet; so if you’re editing a photo and want to remove a lamppost from the photo, then what you have on your Ugee tablet is that photo and you can easily draw round the item you want to remove, as you can clearly see it – there’s no guess work involved at all, unlike the Wacom style black graphics tablets.

The second thing I really love is that you don’t have to grip the pen, you just need to guide it. I have a chronic health condition, which means I have poor dexterity, poor grip and get pain in my hands when I hold a pen or brush for any extended period of time; my Mum suffers from arthritis and has similar problems. The reason she loved using the tablet so much was that she was able to ‘paint’ with it, something that she used to do a lot. I only had the free version of Sketchdesk on my laptop, but she was able to easily do pencil outlines, paint and blend the colours, just like real painting; but do all this by simply guiding the pen and not having to grip a brush. Similarly I’m rubbish at art, but I enjoy it and find it relaxing, unfortunately as I can’t grip and pen or brush I normally can’t do it; I couldn’t even do the craze of ‘adult colouring’ books. But with this tablet I can, I’ve downloaded free colouring-in patterns and happily spent hours doing it, as well as creating some pretty awful paintings. But I don’t care if my painting is bad, I’m just happy to be able to do it again. The tablet doesn’t have auto-rotate on it, so you can turn it on its side, as you would paper to make it easier or more comfortable to do bits. The pen and tablet are super responsive and also respond to pressure, so if you want to get your pencil lines a bit darker or harder, you just put a little extra pressure on the tablet's pen.

This tablet comes with absolutely everything you need; you get the HDMI cable, USB cable, 2 pens and charging cables (so you can use one, while the other is charging), screen protector, power cable and even a little glove to make it easier across the screen. This tablet is very similar to the 15”, but there are a couple of differences, which I think are great improvements. Firstly the cable connecting ports are at the bottom, which for me was much better and secondly the function buttons are on the bottom of the screen at the front, which I much prefer as now I don’t accidentally hit them if I’m turning the screen round. I use the screen tablet on my lap on the sofa, but if you want to use it at a desk there’s a great stand built into it, which adjusts to lots of angles and is operated on a ratchet type system so really strong and will take a good deal of pressure if you’re pressing hard on it.

I really love this tablet and would highly recommend it to anyone, whether you want to use it for graphics and design, photo editing or drawing and painting; I’d especially recommend it for anyone who had trouble using a conventional pen or brush, this will definitely give your art a new lease of life!

I’m really impressed with this laptop cooler, the design is brilliant.  What I like most about this cooler is the fact that you can tilt your laptop to any of the 5 available positions and I’m now able to use my laptop, sat on the sofa – but with the screen at eye level, instead of me spending hours with my neck bent looking down at it…..

But although that’s what I love most about this cooler, that’s probably not what most people would buy it for. The cooler is very well made; the majority of it is plastic, which keeps it lightweight, although the mesh part above the fans that your laptop sits on is metal. At the front edge of the cooler there are little plastic flippers (like you get on pinball machines) that you can lift up to stop your laptop sliding off.  On the right hand side of the cooler are 2 USB ports, one to connect the cooler to your laptop, plus a spare port than you can use for a mouse or anything you need it for. There is also a rotating switch that turns the 4 fans and LED lights on and allows you to adjust the strength/brightness. The fans are virtually silent, you can really only hear them if you’re in a silent room and the fans are on maximum, but even then it’s not loud enough to disturb you.

I strongly recommend this cooler; it’s a brilliant design and is good for the health of both you and your laptop.

I got this mouse for my Dad when his old mouse packed up; he’s 85 and suffers quite badly with arthritis in his wrist, partially due to age and partially due to an old injury, so I thought this style of mouse would be better for him.

I was definitely right in my assumptions. I know this mouse is labelled as ergonomic, but it’s perfectly designed; the shape of the mouse and the placement of the buttons fits the natural shape of the hand exactly, it’s really comfortable to use. I’m not sure what all the technical specifications mean with this mouse, but it’s really responsive and easy to use; there’s a left click, right click, scroll button, back and forwards buttons all of which are placed in easy reach. Plus there’s a snazzy blue light up strip on the side of it. This mouse is definitely money well spent, especially at £12.99 and I’d happily recommend it; it also comes with Aukey's normal 2 year warranty.

Earlier in the year I got a 11.6” notebook so I could easily study away from home, it’s really portable but unfortunately to make it smaller and lighter it didn’t come with a built in CD drive. I’m not very technically minded; so writing speeds and different USB speed options mean nothing to me, so I’m sorry I can’t comment on that side of it. I wanted something that I could just plug in and use, so that I could install software from CDs I’d previously bought and it sounded like this device would fit the bill. This CD drive is lightweight and had a brushed stainless steel finish on the outside, although I’m pretty sure the case isn’t metal.

I connected the external CD drive to my laptop and it recognised it straight away, read the information on the CD in the device and I was able to quickly copy the information from the CD on to my notebook. I also easily and quickly copied music from my netbook on to another CD using the writer.

My opinion expressed is a direct reflection of my personal experience with the Topop CD/DVD-RW Burner Writer External Optical Drive and I was impressed by it. It looks good, it’s lightweight and portable and most importantly it does what it’s meant to do easily and quickly; so I’d happily recommend it.

This Wi-Fi extender is brilliant, so easy to set up and enabled me to use the internet at the end of my garden, which I was never able to do before.
